Using this online citizen police report system allows you to submit a report immediately for the following incidents:

- Anonymous Tip Line
- Theft - any type of theft that is NOT in progress
- Criminal Mischief / Vandalism (damaged property, graffiti, etc.)
- Identity Theft / Fraud / Forgery (scams, unauthorized use of debit / credit cards or accounts, personal / business information used fraudulently to create accounts, etc.)
- Code Violations (non-crime code violations - abandoned vehicles, animal complaints, etc.)
- Misc Complaints (report parking issues, traffic complaints, etc.)
Please verify the following to determine if filing an online police report is the right option for you:

- Is this a crime in progress?
- Is this an Emergency?
- Was this a Hit and Run?
- Did this incident occur outside of the Independence City limits?

If you answered NO to the above questions, you are ready to file your report online.

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, call 911 or Non-Emergency Dispatch at (503) 838-1214
Upon completion of this report process you will:

  • See the words: "Thank you for submitting your report", showing that your police report is complete.
  • Be given a temporary reference number. NOTE: this is not a police case number
  • Be able to print a copy of the report you submitted for your records. NOTE: This is not an official police report.
Please Note:

  • Filing an online report will generally not generate an in-person police response.
  • All incidents reported online will be reviewed within 72 hours.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
  • After review, a case number will be assigned if requested or necessary.
  • Filing a false police report is a crime(ORS 162.375).
